Sharjah 24: Al Riqa Suburb Council, affiliated with the Sharjah Districts Affairs Department, hosted a special session as part of the "Yalsatna" initiative, titled "Hand in Hand... Emirati Women: Partners in Community Security and Development".

The session was dedicated to women at the council's headquarters and aimed to highlight the role of Emirati women in enhancing social security and contributing effectively to development.

Strengthening community cohesion

This comes as part of Sharjah Districts Affairs Department commitment to strengthening community cohesion and organising quality initiatives that serve various segments of society.

The meeting was moderated by Fatima Al Alili, member of the Suburb Council, who hosted Captain Talia Al Saadi, Director of the Child Protection Branch at the Department of Community Protection.

Emirati women, safeguarding children and protecting youth

In her speech, Al Saadi addressed the pivotal role of Emirati women in safeguarding children and protecting their youth, as well as their growing role in achieving sustainable development.

Al Saadi emphasised that Emirati women are integral partners in building society and protecting its values. This session is part of the "Yalsatna" initiative implemented by Al Riqa Suburb Council, based on Sharjah Districts Affairs Department aimed at strengthening social cohesion, promoting national values, and highlighting the role of suburbs as community centers that support awareness and community empowerment programmes.

Maintaining community security

The session focused on discussing the vital role of Emirati women in maintaining community security through their educational role within the family and their responsibility to instill positive values in their children. This helps protect them from negative behaviour and enhance their awareness of the dangers of our time. This serves as the first line of defense for young people and an effective partner in security and community efforts.

Contributing to sustainable development

The session also highlighted the status enjoyed by Emirati women, thanks to the continuous support of the wise leadership, which has empowered them to engage in various fields, assert their presence in decision-making positions, and participate in formulating community policies. This enhances their contribution to sustainable development and preserves the cohesion of the Emirati family and its authentic values.
