The exhibition pays tribute to the pioneering journey of Emirati women and their indispensable contributions to fostering social cohesion and national identity. It highlights their prominent presence in the visual arts, shedding light on the creativity of Emirati female artists whose work vividly reflects the identity and spirit of the UAE.
Featuring 30 diverse pieces spanning paintings, sculptures, and visual artworks, the exhibition showcased works by 12 leading Emirati women artists. Among these trailblazers were Dr Karima Al Shoumali, Dr Nagat Maki, Dr Mona Balfakeeh, and renowned artists such as Mona Al Khaja, Salama Al Mazrouei, Salma Al Marri, Azza Al Qubaisi, Kulthum Balsalah, Faiza Mohammed Hassan, Sara Albanna, Bodour Al Badoor, and Nouf Aldars. Collectively, their contributions created an evocative visual narrative that mirrors the significant imprint of Emirati women on the local art scene, celebrating their role as the mirror of the nation’s soul and identity.
The University of Sharjah reaffirmed its commitment to supporting arts and culture while promoting the prominence of Emirati women across all creative disciplines.
Additionally, the University’s Dental Hospital marked Emirati Women’s Day with a special event filled with celebratory activities, symbolic gifts, and hospitality, honoring the invaluable contributions of women and their active presence in society.
