Sharjah 24: Brigadier Ibrahim Al Ajil, Director of the General Department of Comprehensive Police Stations, announced a 22% reduction in criminal reports filed at police stations across Sharjah during the first half of this year, compared to the same period in 2024. He attributed this decline to the effectiveness of the emirate’s security strategy and operational efficiency.

Enhanced patrols and security measures across Sharjah

Al Ajil explained that Sharjah Police have intensified their efforts by deploying advanced checkpoints and increasing patrols across various key areas in the emirate. These efforts ensure rapid response to incidents while maintaining a visible security presence. In addition, awareness campaigns continue to play a vital role in educating the public about safety and encouraging active community cooperation.

Community partnership and preventive efforts paying off

Brigadier Omar Abu Al-Zoud, Director of the General Directorate of Criminal Security and Ports, highlighted that the drop in crime is a result of robust preventive strategies and a strong partnership between law enforcement and the community. He noted that security teams have worked closely with government and private entities, launching educational initiatives to address emerging threats such as online fraud and behavioral crimes, helping to prevent offenses before they occur.
