The launch was attended by Brigadier Faisal bin Nassar, Director General of the General Department of Community Protection and Prevention, his deputy Brigadier Dr Tariq Al Midfa, and a number of officers, officials, and specialists. The initiative aims to develop the creative writing skills of participants, refine their short story writing abilities, and enhance their passion for literature and creativity. It targets 20 children of Sharjah Police officers, aged between 10 and 16.
Brigadier Faisal bin Nassar emphasised that investing in writing and literary creativity is an investment in human development and raising awareness among future generations. Because it plays a fundamental role in consolidating knowledge, refining thought, and developing the creative abilities of young people, he added that the leading cultural position achieved by the Emirate of Sharjah is a result of the enlightened vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, who has made culture and literature a comprehensive civilisational project and established a nurturing environment for creators and writers, supporting talents in various literary and intellectual fields.
Brigadier Faisal bin Nassar pointed out that SP continues its efforts in discovering and nurturing promising talents and empowering them to develop their creative abilities, based on its belief that human development is the foundation of sustainable development and contributes to preparing a conscious generation that possesses the tools of thought and knowledge, capable of contributing effectively to the national development process and enhancing the civilisational and cultural standing of the United Arab Emirates.
The initiative included an integrated training programme aimed at developing participants’ skills in creative writing and literary composition, starting from building the idea and reaching the writing of the short story, within the themes of cyberspace, traffic safety, behavioural phenomena, and national identity. It also included an introductory tour of the operations center, during which participants learned about the security work system and became familiar with the systems, devices, and mechanisms used in police work, which contributes to enriching their knowledge and inspiring them to employ what they have gained in experiences and knowledge in writing purposeful stories that carry community security messages.
