The visit aimed to assess services provided to citizens and residents and was part of the work of the second regular session of the eleventh legislative term.
The visit included a close examination of the nature of the field and administrative work carried out by the department in this vital area, which contributes to improving performance and enhancing the efficiency of social service provision in all its forms.

He was accompanied by Dr. Hind Saleh Al Hajri, Committee Rapporteur, and members Ahmed Salem Humaidi Al Ketbi, Khalfan Saif Al Masafri, and Youssef Mohammed Al Mazrouei, in addition to the committee secretariats, Huda Al Hammadi and Samia Jassim Mohammed.
The delegation was received from the Kalba branch by Abdul Rahman Ibrahim Al Darmaki, Branch Manager, along with several department officials, including Nada Al Manqbi, Head of the Social Care and Protection Department; Fatima Al Riyami, Head of the Social Relief Department; Shaikha Al Kindi, Head of the Community Service Department; and Maryam Darwish, Head of the Community Plans and Initiatives Department.
The visit included an expanded meeting during which branch officials presented to the committee the efforts made to provide a comprehensive package of social services, particularly those related to protection, social care, and community empowerment programmes, as well as initiatives aimed at supporting community groups such as senior citizens, widows, divorcees, orphans, and low-income groups. Committee members praised the excellence in performance, organisation, and the competence of the branch's staff.
During the tour, the committee viewed a comprehensive presentation that highlighted the branch's most prominent efforts over the past period. The presentation documented the unique initiatives and projects implemented by the branch to serve the community in Kalba, as well as community partnerships that enhance the effectiveness of social intervention and achieve integrated roles between various government agencies.
The presentation also highlighted achievements in responding to weather conditions and climate change, which posed an exceptional field challenge that was efficiently addressed through pre-prepared emergency plans and ongoing coordination with relevant authorities, such as the Civil Defence, Municipality, and Emergency Departments, to provide urgent shelter, food, and logistical support services to residents in the affected areas.
The tour also included a field visit to the branch's various departments, where service delivery mechanisms were reviewed through a work system that relies on integration between field support teams and the follow-up and coordination departments.
The committee heard a detailed explanation of community service programmes and their role in strengthening family and community cohesion, and was briefed on the mechanism for receiving reports and handling emergency cases.
Committee members expressed their high appreciation for the efforts made and the professional spirit they observed among the branch's employees. They emphasised that what was reviewed reflects the commitment to the Sharjah government's vision of providing a safe and stable social environment that preserves human dignity and enhances the quality of life.
The committee also affirmed its continued full support for the department's efforts through the recommendations it submits to SCC, in a manner that serves the social and development goals at the emirate level.
