Sharjah 24: The Organising Committee of the Tour of Sharjah, chaired by His Excellency Abdul Malik Jani, officially began preparations for the event’s tenth edition. The meeting took place at the Sharjah Sports Council headquarters and was attended by His Excellency Issa Hilal Al-Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, along with Dr Yasser Omar Al-Doukhi, Director of the Tour, committee heads, and members.
The committee reviewed proposals and ideas for the international event scheduled for January 2025.
The committee approved the report from the International Cycling Association regarding the previous edition, reviewed the upcoming event's preparations, and finalised its official race routes. The executive committees were tasked with coordinating with supporting and sponsoring bodies to ensure the event's success. Other discussions included the number of participating teams, logistical coordination, and the planning of accompanying activities. A press conference will be held soon to announce further details.
His Excellency Abdul Malik Jani emphasised the committee’s commitment to making the tenth edition a major success, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. He noted that the new race routes will highlight the emirate’s latest tourist attractions, showcasing the beauty of Sharjah’s regions.
The committee includes members from various key roles, including Major Hassan Mohammed Al Hosani (Security), Humaid Hashel Al Kharousi (Technical and Referees), Abdullah Hussein Al Ali (Support Services), Mohammed Ali Bin Hammad (Public Relations and Transportation), Zakia Suhail Al Musharakh (Media and Marketing), Ahmed Ali Al Salman (Protocol and Ceremonies), Khalid Abdullah Al Junaibi (Performance and Development), Jassim Mohammed Al Dokhi (Medical), Khalid Mohammed Ahmed (Accompanying Events), and Mohammed Salah Munir (Rapporteur).
