Sharjah 24: Preparations for the fourth edition of the Kalba Beach Games, which will be held under the patronage of Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, next November, continue.
The organising committee recently held its regular meeting, chaired by His Excellency Abdulmalik Jani, Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council and Chairman of the Organising Committee, and decided to announce the details of the new edition at a press conference early next month.
It also decided to create an account for the event on the Instagram platform, and to coordinate with the technical committee to determine the final number of competitions and their schedule, and a list of accompanying events. It approved opening registration starting from October 1st via social media sites and sports federations.
The committee also reviewed the arrangements and sections of the opening ceremony programme, detailed reports on the various media, marketing and logistical preparations, and the terms and regulations governing the competitions.
The committee members then made a field visit to the event venue on Kalba Beach and inspected the updates that took place at the site and reviewed the distribution of the stadiums, the main platform, and the facilities and services available to the public.
Following the meeting, His Excellency Abdulmalik Jani stated that the preparations are for an exceptional event that will preserve all the gains achieved in the previous editions and add more reasons for excitement and enjoyment to the audience who have been waiting for it and following it eagerly from year to year.
He expressed his satisfaction with all the arrangements made by the main and sub-committees, and said that the committee will be keen to provide the opportunity for the largest number of athletes to participate in its games’ competitions.
The meeting was held at the headquarters of the Kalba Cultural and Sports Club in the presence of Dr. Omar bin Hanifa, Vice Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Yasser Omar Al Dokhi, Director of this event, members of the Committee, heads of sub-committees, and members of the General Supervision Office. The Committee is scheduled to hold a final meeting before the press conference to put the finishing touches on the preparations for the event, which has become an annual festival in Kalba.
