On Thursday, the national football team will meet its North Korean counterpart in the third round of Group One of the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain.
Thursday’s match will be the eighth in the history of official matches between the national team and its North Korean counterpart, as they have previously met in seven official matches. The national team won two matches, and the North Korean team won two, while the draw was present in 3 matches.
The national team had started its preparations for the match after the conclusion of the fifth round of the ADNOC Professional League, with a list of 26 players, and is looking forward to making up for the loss of the previous round against its Iranian counterpart, and is currently third in the group standings with 3 points, behind the Uzbek and Iranian teams, respectively, with 6 points each.
