The festival is organised by Sharjah Camel Racing Club on the grounds of Al Dhaid Camel Racing Track, for all camels’ categories (Haqayiq, Laqaya, Idhaa, Thanaya, Hawl and Zamoul), which compete over 130 rounds in two periods (morning and evening), including 10 symbolic rounds.
The festival also includes four rounds of a heritage race, for citizens, for a distance of 2 kilometres, on the first day during the evening period.
His Excellency Abdullah Mohammed Muadhd bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Sharjah Camel Racing Club and Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee of the Festival, expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, for their continuous support to the Sharjah Camel Racing Club, camel owners and heritage lovers, and for launching this festival, which is being held for the third time in a row on the grounds of Al Dhaid racing track.
His Excellency Abdullah Mohammed Muadhd bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi stressed that the festival is being held with a large participation of camel owners from all over the UAE and the GCC countries, competing in 130 rounds over 6 days and four rounds for the heritage race.
