Sharjah 24: Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club, announced the successful conclusion of the third round of the Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship, held from September 26 to 29 at the Al Bait Mutawahid in Sharjah. This round featured 1,500 players from 52 teams, highlighting the growth of Jiu-Jitsu in the UAE.
Part of a five-round series that began on June 26, this championship included participants from various age groups, from children to adults over 30. Previous rounds showcased strong competition and impressive performances, helping to promote Jiu-Jitsu across the country.
Al Owais told "Sharjah 24" that the third round of the Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship (No-Gi) concluded successfully, organised by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation in collaboration with the club.
He noted that the round saw impressive participation from players, showcasing the growth of Jiu-Jitsu in the UAE and the competitive spirit among clubs. He highlighted the players' high skill levels, which reflect their commitment and professionalism. These tournaments play a vital role in improving game standards, developing player skills, and raising awareness of Jiu-Jitsu, encouraging more young people to get involved.
At the conclusion of his remarks, Ahmed Al Owais wished all tournament participants success and expressed optimism about ongoing achievements at both local and international levels.
