Sharjah 24: Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Owais, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club (SSDSC), announced that the club will host the Sharjah Jiu-Jitsu Cup over two days at Al Hamriyah Club. The event is under the patronage of the Sharjah Sports Council and the supervision of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation.
Al Owais told “Sharjah 24” that the championship featured intense competition among approximately 500 players from 47 teams, both domestic and international. He noted that this edition of the Sharjah Jiu-Jitsu Cup serves as preparation for Sharjah’s upcoming hosting of the "Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship," set to take place in the coming weeks.
On this occasion, Al Owais expressed his deepest gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his unwavering support. He acknowledged His Highness’s role in providing the sports infrastructure necessary for such tournaments in Sharjah. Al Owais also thanked the Sharjah Sports Council and Al Hamriyah Club for hosting the event and congratulated all club members on their victory and winning the tournament cup, wishing them continued success and prosperity.
