Sharjah24: The Sharjah Parents Council (SPC), affiliated with the Districts Affairs Department, held on Thursday morning an informative lecture called "Cybersecurity for a Safe Society" in partnership with the Community Police Department at Sharjah Police General Command (SPGC).
Being held at the Council’s headquarters, the lecture aimed at enhancing cybersecurity awareness within the community. This initiative is particularly relevant given the growing challenges presented by contemporary technology.
First Lieutenant Dr. Oshba Mohammed Al Ketbi, an officer in the Criminal Investigation Department, led the session. Adil Al Hammadi, Head of the Media Committee, and Salwa Juma’a, Head of the Activities and Events Committee, were present at the event, which saw a significant turnout of participants.
Parents actively participated in the event, demonstrating a keen interest in the topics discussed, which resulted in open and productive conversations.
Dr. Al Ketbi covered several significant topics, starting with an overview of cybersecurity and its critical role in the digital era, and then examining the prevalent types of cybercrimes along with strategies for prevention. She also highlighted the crucial need to inform individuals about protecting their personal data and managing online threats effectively.
At the conclusion of the lecture, the Parents Council extended thanks to Dr. Al Ketbi for providing insightful information. They highlighted the importance of continuing such events to strengthen security awareness and support the creation of a community that is resilient to cybersecurity threats.
