As the weather conditions intensified, the Sharjah Police escalated its efforts by handling 21,635 incoming calls to the operations room, ranging from emergencies to non-emergencies. In addition, more than 300 certificates were issued for businesses and vehicles impacted by the changes in weather. Whereas last year, only 5,150 certificates were issued during similar weather fluctuations, indicating an increase in societal awareness and responsibility.
The success of the security plan was achieved through enhanced collaboration with relevant authorities, meticulous preparation for worst-case scenarios to reduce the impact of adverse weather conditions, and an unwavering dedication to safeguarding lives and property.
The operations room increased its readiness level in anticipation of the weather depression and successfully managed a total of 17,574 emergency calls through the number 999, along with 4,061 non-emergency calls through the number 901.
In addition, there has been an increase in the number of traffic patrols on both internal and external roads to ensure that traffic flows smoothly. In the eastern region, 707 individuals whose homes were damaged by heavy rains were provided with safe shelter facilities, ensuring their accommodation.
Sharjah Police is encouraging people to download its smart application (shjpolice) from any smartphone app store. They are also urging people to make use of the "Certificate Issuance for Concerned Parties" service and other services provided through the app.
