Organised at C headquarters in the city of Sharjah, the workshop also aims to enlist the urban development in the country and discuss the planning patterns in the design of residential areas since 1970 to the present time.
The workshop was presented by Dr. Khaled Al-Awadi - an expert and researcher in urban planning, an associate professor at Khalifa University and a member of the Emirates Planning Association, in which he touched on modern concepts for designing sustainable residential areas, rehabilitating old residential ones, and ways to benefit from lost and unused spaces.
The workshop also focused on shedding light on life beyond the high-rise urbanisation and highlighting the simple urban models that are based, in the essence of their design, on aspects of the daily and social life of the population, and their positive impact on individuals, in terms of enhancing their interaction with their urban environment with all its elements, in a way that guarantees the quality of life for residents of these areas.
The workshop was attended by Eng. Hamad Al Shamsi, Director of SDTPS, and a group of managers, engineers and specialised employees at SDTPS.
