Sharjah24: The “More Beautiful Neighborhoods” initiative, organised by the Sharjah Department of Town Planning and Survey (SDTPS), has launched its first awareness tour with a visit to the Muwaileh Suburb Council as part of the “Yalstna” initiative. The visit aimed to familiarise council members and residents with the initiative’s objectives, which focus on enhancing the quality of life in residential areas, promoting awareness about maintaining the city’s appearance, and improving Sharjah’s visual landscape.

Promoting community awareness

This visit marks the start of a series of awareness tours carried out in partnership with the Department of Suburbs and Villages Affairs and various suburban councils across the emirate. The aim is to enhance community responsibility and motivate residents to take an active role in improving and beautifying their neighbourhoods.

Active participation from residents

The session experienced strong engagement from council members and residents, who discussed the initiative’s aims, main challenges, priorities for implementation, and community needs. Participants also provided valuable ideas and suggestions to help create cleaner, more organised, and visually appealing neighbourhoods, reflecting a spirit of cooperation and shared responsibility between local authorities and the community.

Attendance and collaboration

The session was attended by His Excellency Khalid Abdullah Al Raboui, Chairman of the Muwaileh Suburb Council, and council members. Also present were Ibrahim Al Jarwan, Director of the Urban Appearance Department from the Department of Town Planning and Survey, along with members of the “More Beautiful Neighbourhoods” campaign team.
