Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Department of Planning and Survey concluded the "Tomorrow's Urban Competencies" summer programme, which was organised at the department's headquarters.

The ten-day programme, which saw the participation of 30 secondary school students (grades 9 to 12), was supervised by 19 trainers and organisers from various departments within the department.

Diverse workshops in urban planning and sustainability

The programme included 42 theoretical and practical training workshops covering various areas of urban planning and sustainable development. These workshops were presented by a group of specialists and engineers from the departments of surveying, projects, building permits, Geographic Information Systems, urban appearance, finance, human resources, and legal affairs.

Insightful field Trips and practical exposure

The programme also included internal field trips, during which students had the opportunity to gain a firsthand insight into the work environment and project implementation stages, and to learn about the complementary roles of the departments.

Honouring participants and celebrating achievements

At the conclusion of the programme, the department honoured the participating students, trainers, and organisers in recognition of their commitment, excellence, and dedication during the training period. This recognition is part of its efforts to prepare a knowledgeable and qualified generation, enhance students' professional inclinations, and consolidate their understanding of the roles of institutional work within government agencies in the Emirate of Sharjah.
