The meeting was attended by Engineer Hamad Juma Al Shamsi, Member of the Executive Council, Chairman of the Department of Town Planning and Survey, and Rashid Ali Al Ali, Executive Director of the Sharjah Communication Technologies Authority, along with a number of officials and specialists from both sides.
Engineer Hamad Juma Al Shamsi emphasized that collaboration among government entities is crucial for efficient sustainable urban planning. He noted that early coordination in allocating infrastructure for communications services accelerates project implementation and enhances readiness in growing areas, ultimately supporting a sustainable digital infrastructure in Sharjah.
Rashid Ali Al Ali, Executive Director of the SCTA, stressed the need to build stronger partnerships with the Department of Town Planning and Survey. He pointed out that connecting urban growth with the needs of communication networks is vital for Sharjah's development. Al Ali mentioned that planning based on data is key for predicting future needs and for improving communication services. This should be done in cooperation with providers and federal agencies to better support society and the business sectors.
The meeting focused on ways to improve integration between the two parties. It reviewed the needs of existing and new residential, commercial, and industrial areas in Sharjah. It emphasized the importance of using population census data from the Department of Statistics and Community Development for planning future projects. Both sides shall continue working together to improve reliable services. This supports Sharjah's vision for sustainable, people-centred development.
