The memorandum of understanding was signed at the university's headquarters in Sharjah by His Excellency Jamal Al Tarifi, President of Al Qasimia University, and His Excellency Brigadier Dr. Muhammad Khamis Al Othmani, Director General of SPSA.
The memorandum of understanding stipulated strengthening the frameworks of joint cooperation between Al Qasimia University and Sharjah Police Sciences Academy in the fields of research, studies and training to ensure the success and continuous development of their relationship serving the common goals of both sides.
His Excellency Jamal Al Tarifi stressed the importance of the memorandum of understanding that brings together the University and SPSA, as it is one of the most important higher education establishments in the Emirate of Sharjah, which reflects the directives and visions of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to enhance cooperation between institutions in the Emirate of Sharjah, and to ensure coordination in different topics, as the university will provide its academic expertise in the field of training and scientific research, in order to enable the preparation of integrated professional and training programmes in the field of security and police sciences related to the legal aspects of both sides.
His Excellency Brigadier General Dr. Muhammad Khamis Al Othmani explained that the memorandum seeks to enhance the exchange of experiences and knowledge; coordinates joint efforts between the Academy and Al Qasimia University; and benefits from all the capabilities available to both parties related to the purposes of this memorandum. In addition to the participation of the two parties’ employees in training and professional programmes, activities, events and conferences organised by both parties.
His Excellency Brigadier General Dr. Muhammad Khamis Al Othmani pointed out that the cooperation will focus on consolidating relations in the field of studies and scientific research in the field of competence of both parties.
The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Awad Al Khalaf, Acting Director of Al Qasimia University, and Mr. Salem Al Jarwan, Vice President for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Atta Hassan Abdel Rahim, Director of the Centre for Continuing Education and Development, and Ali Al Naqbi, Director of Public Relations at Al Qasimia University.
