Sharjah24: The Sixth Ramadan Majlis of Al Qasimia University (AQU) shed light on the future of smart learning and teaching methodologies, during the hosting of Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Chancellor of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University.
The Ramadan Majlis was held virtually in the presence of Jamal Al Tarifi, President of AQU, Dr. Awad Al Khalaf, Director of AQU, along with several deans and specialists.
Dr. Al Awar stressed the importance of anticipating the features of the future education of universities, investing in infrastructure of new education system, stimulating innovation to create the digital campus, providing educational opportunities at any time and everywhere, and enabling students to play their role in designing the features of the future.
He pointed out that the qualitative strategies for smart education focus on producing future entrepreneurs, not job seekers, as the difference between them is vast, as one of them relies on the government in job securing, while the other provides job opportunities, pointing to the importance of rebuilding the future of learning and linking it to smart learning methods to provide a unique educational experience with bright entrepreneurs.
Dr. Al Awar conducted an interactive discussion with the audience about the need for universities to implement smart learning, addressing an explanation of the challenges that universities will face applying this type of learning, stressing that facing future challenges requires focusing on making a fundamental change in learning, allowing educational institutions to contribute to translating the national vision, government strategies and projects into a reality that looks to the future with all its needs.
Al Awar was keen to present the experience of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University by applying smart learning and the most prominent methods of learning and teaching methodology applied at the university, referring to those programmes and possibilities that it has set to reach its goals by changing the concept of traditional education among teachers and students.
At the end of the Ramadan Majlis, His Excellency Jamal Al Tarifi, President of Al Qasimia University, honoured Prof. Mansour Al Awar with the University Shield and a certificate of appreciation for his distinguished efforts as one of the national symbols in the field of smart learning and spreading creativity and innovation.
