Professors and researchers from 22 Arab and Islamic countries attended the conference to debate the role of Sharia law in the modern world.
The conference thanked the leaders of the UAE for their ongoing and serious efforts to support science and knowledge, as well as His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, for sponsoring and supporting scientific research.
The conferees issued a series of recommendations, the most important of which is to adhere to deriving from Sharia sources, the most important of which are the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah, and refer to Sharia sources in order of priority to solve current reality's issues.
The recommendations underlined the significance of ensuring that artificial intelligence and modern technologies are used to maintain pace with progress, and that they are used in public institutions in general as well as in the service of Islamic sciences.
The conferees advocated for the development of legal and regulatory frameworks to ensure the benefits of artificial intelligence technology, eliminate drawbacks and threats, and defend values and morality.
