Sharjah 24: The University of Khorfakkan will officially start the new academic year, accepting students in 5 colleges: The College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Science Technology, the College of Business Administration, and the College of Sharia and Law, in addition to a new college, the College of Marine Sciences, the first of its kind.
Dr. Abdullah Al Mughni, University of Sharjah's Deputy Assistant Rector for Branches Affairs, extended his warmest congratulations and blessings to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on the occasion of the inauguration of the University of Khorfakkan.

Speaking exclusively to “Sharjah 24”, Al Mughni said that the nascent university is a strong addition to the city of Khorfakkan, after a series of qualitative projects that were launched in the city in recent years, realising the visions and directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and also the President of the university.

Aiming to attract large numbers of students to relieve pressure on the University of Sharjah, the new university also contributes to providing many academic and administrative jobs, as well as meeting the needs of the labour market and supplying it with graduates in several specialisations and fields.

Dr. Abdullah Al Mughni pointed out that the University of Khorfakkan will be an integrated university equipped with the various elements of infrastructure, technology and professional human cadre, which will enable it to accommodate large numbers of students, adding to the 1,400 male and female students currently enrolled.

The university has about 60 classrooms, many conference halls, laboratories and research centres, in addition to praying and service spaces, sports and entertainment facilities. His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah also directed the construction of two residential compounds for students and members of the academic staff according to the highest quality standards.
