Sharjah24: During Ramadan, Dr. Adil Sajwani, Family Medicine Specialist Doctor, presents his health programme "Your Doctor in Ramadan", which broadcasts at 5 PM on “Sharjah 24”.
Dr. Adel Sajwani spoke in his fourth Ramadan episode, which is broadcast, Tuesday, on the “Sharjah 24” website and social media platforms, about smoking in the blessed month of Ramadan, where he said smoking is one of the very bad habits for health, as smoking is a major cause of cancer, lung inflammation and heart disease. He stressed that smoking is no different from a regular or electronic cigarette or hookah and others.

He added that there are many smokers who resort to smoking immediately after iftar, and this causes many problems for the lungs and irritation to the stomach, which can lead to stomach ulcers.

Dr. Adil called on community members to take advantage of the blessed month of Ramadan to quit smoking by going to the clinics designated for this matter, which are widely spread and free of charge in the various emirates of the country, in addition to the presence of medicines that help quit smoking, stressing that the holy month of Ramadan is an opportunity for smokers to quit smoking in order to preserve for their health and those they love.
