The program airs on Al Wusta TV every Friday at 6:30 PM, and is presented by media personality and storyteller Salem bin Ma’dan Al Ketbi, along other senior citizens.
The program discusses various aspects of the ancient features of the Bedouin people, explaining the man’s appearance in terms of clothing and fragrance, and his accompanying tools such as the stick, reinforcing the role of religious and social values that formed the basis of society, such as doing good, helping the distressed, raising children and teaching them manners and dealings, and taking care in settling and traveling, including camels and livestock.
Regarding the “Samt Al Awal” program, Saeed Rashid Al Ketbi, director of Al Wusta Channel, said: “We were keen to ensure that the program represents a realistic reflection of the character, approach, and values of the Bedouins, inherited since ancient times.”
