These projects are being implemented through a collaborative framework between SPDW and the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA). Ongoing coordination ensures that new educational facilities comply with the Authority's standards and licensing and operational requirements, including learning environments, early childhood facilities, safety standards, and technical and administrative equipment. This cooperation contributes to raising the quality of educational services provided in private schools and nurseries and providing a modern infrastructure that supports the Authority's plans to develop education and enhance its competitiveness, thus ensuring safe and suitable learning environments for students and their families.
In Sharjah, SDPW completed the Muhadhab School project, a landmark development combining modern facilities with integrated educational services. Spanning 30,000 square metres and accommodating 400 students, the school presents a modern model for international schools, integrating academic excellence with comprehensive sports and cultural infrastructure. The project was completed in just 60 days, transforming a 30,000-square-meter desert area into a comprehensive educational complex. It includes academic, health, cultural, and sports facilities, and accommodates 400 students within a modern learning environment. The team successfully overcame time constraints by expediting construction, culminating in the completion of the administration building (981 square metres), which houses seven offices and a meeting hall. The medical department includes a clinic, an isolation room, and a complete health system within the school. The kindergarten and nursery building, with a capacity of 150 students, serves early childhood development and includes six classrooms, a library, a multi-purpose playground, a principal's office, a teachers' room, a meeting hall, a doctor's office, a kitchen, and restrooms. The building for grades one through four accommodates 250 students. The school features 10 classrooms, a library, a multi-purpose courtyard, a principal's office, a teachers' room, a meeting room, a doctor's office, a kitchen, and restrooms. It also includes a theatre building with a capacity of 117 people, which can also be used as a multi-purpose hall for events and initiatives. The school further comprises science and computer labs, a cafeteria, preparation rooms, and a driver's rest area. This achievement reflects Sharjah's vision of accelerating the development of its educational infrastructure and providing modern schools that meet the needs of the community and support the educational journey in the Emirate. Reflecting the integration of educational, cultural, and spiritual aspects within the school campus, and with this comprehensive architectural and educational framework, Muhadhab School presents a progressive model of a modern school in Sharjah, combining quality education, healthcare, sports activities, and the arts within a carefully designed environment.
The department completed the Early Childhood Centre in Al-Sayouh after expanding the nursery. Four classrooms were added in the Al-Ruqaiba 1 area, covering 770 square metres and accommodating 96 children. The Early Childhood Centre in Al-Rahmaniya, in the Shaghrafa 1 area, was also completed after expanding the nursery and adding six classrooms, covering 1,000 square metres and accommodating 150 children. The department also completed maintenance work at the Al-Qulaia Nursery, including the supply and installation of 1,500 square metres of vinyl flooring, the installation of 23 doors of various types, 700 square metres of suspended ceilings, 250 square metres of tiled flooring, and the installation of 15 car park canopies. Interior and exterior painting was also completed, covering an area of 10,000 square metres, in addition to air conditioning and electrical work.
Construction continues on four government nurseries: one for the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority in Al-Abar area of Halwan suburb, another in Al-Mawrada, and nurseries in Kashisha and Al-Nouf.
In the same vein, the department completed maintenance work on the Pakistani Islamic School in Al Ghubaiba, which comprises a complex of educational buildings and facilities covering a total area of approximately 8,000 square metres. The department undertook all interior and exterior painting of the school buildings, repaired cracks in the concrete elements, waterproofed the roofs, and maintained and renovated all restrooms and suspended ceilings. Maintenance was also carried out on floors, doors, windows, and metal cabinets, with any damaged parts replaced. Rubber flooring was supplied for the playgrounds and basketball court, and the perimeter fences and gates were repaired.
In Al Thumama area of Al Dhaid, construction of the Victoria International School is progressing at a completion rate of 73%. The project includes administration buildings, a theatre, a multi-purpose sports hall, kindergarten and nursery buildings, and classrooms, establishing a comprehensive school model that integrates education, arts, sports, and early childhood facilities within a single campus. The project to cover the playground and maintain the Al Bustan Nursery has reached 84% completion. This work includes the construction of a canopy over the playground and comprehensive maintenance of the building.
In Al Madam, projects focus on supporting early childhood services and increasing school capacity, including the construction of the Tawila Nursery. SDPW has completed the first phase of the expansion project for the Khalifa Al Hamza American School in Al Madam, as part of its plan to develop the educational infrastructure in the Emirate of Sharjah and provide an integrated learning environment that keeps pace with the academic and population growth in the area. The project includes the construction of a group of new educational and service buildings. The first phase, completed by the department, included the construction of a 145-square-metre expansion of student classrooms on the ground floor, comprising one classroom, an activity room, and a supervisor's office to provide an interactive learning environment.
Support for both curricular and extracurricular activities was provided. An expansion of the girls' classrooms on the ground floor, spanning 365 square metres, was also completed. This expansion includes four classrooms, a laboratory, and a supervisor's office, enhancing practical learning and providing a safe and comprehensive environment for the students. As part of the focus on service aspects, a main dining hall is currently under construction on the ground floor, covering 340 square metres. This hall will include a kitchen, a food service area, and a dining hall that can accommodate eighty students, providing a healthy and comfortable environment for daily meals. Additionally, a dedicated dining hall for the kindergarten section is being constructed on the ground floor, covering 250 square metres and accommodating fifty children, ensuring a safe and nurturing space within a comfortable educational environment. The new classrooms were handed over at the beginning of the academic year, ready to welcome students to a modern and fully equipped learning environment. The dining hall and the remaining buildings will be handed over next November after the completion of final finishing touches and interior fittings.
In Kalba, the department completed the second phase of Victoria School, which included an expansion with a building housing laboratories, classrooms, a theatre, and separate libraries for boys and girls. A sports complex was also added, featuring a multi-purpose hall, a semi-Olympic swimming pool, service rooms, and paved outdoor areas. Additionally, the department completed the construction of secondary school facilities for Al Sidra Private School. This project included two indoor sports halls for male and female students, classrooms, physics, chemistry, biology, and computer labs, as well as prayer rooms, clinics, staff rooms, and restrooms.
In a related development, the department has completed Al Ghail Nursery project in Kalba. The nursery includes classrooms for infants up to four years old, indoor and outdoor play areas, multi-purpose halls, reception areas, restrooms, kitchens, and external facilities including a service building, parking, an outer fence, and a guard room. Also in Kalba, the Khor Kalba Nursery is under construction, with a completion rate of 40%. This nursery also includes classrooms for infants up to four years old, indoor and outdoor play areas, multi-purpose halls, reception areas, restrooms, kitchens, and external facilities including a service building, parking, an outer fence, and a guard room.
In the Khorfakkan nursery sector, Al Lulu'iya Nursery has been completed. It comprises ten classrooms accommodating 200 children, in addition to administrative offices, a central kitchen, and indoor and outdoor play areas. The University Nursery has also been completed, featuring three classrooms, a preparatory kitchen, and two indoor and outdoor play areas. This enhances early childhood care and education services near the university community. Completed projects included the maintenance of Al Qadisiyah and Shis nurseries. The work involved repainting, replacing reception areas, and upgrading the play area flooring, as part of a maintenance program focused on operational details related to children's comfort and safety.
In Dibba Al Hisn, the construction of the North District Nursery is underway. It will include four classrooms and service rooms. Soil improvement work is currently being carried out in preparation for the next construction phases. Meanwhile, maintenance of the Dibba Al Hisn Nursery has been completed. This included repainting the interior and exterior, replacing the reception area, and upgrading the play area flooring. These improvements enhance the building's efficiency and improve the safety and appeal of the children's environment.
These projects reflect a commitment to balanced investment across all stages of education, from nurseries and early childhood development to schools, thus solidifying education as a cornerstone of comprehensive development.
