Sharjah 24: In implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the Sharjah Department Public Works (SDPW) completed the Al Muhadhab School project in just 60 days, a remarkable achievement in both construction and education that reflects the emirate's ability to transform vision into reality in record time.

A desert area spanning over 30,000 square meters was transformed into a comprehensive educational complex, including a school, kindergarten, nursery, and educational, health, cultural, and sports facilities. The school accommodates 400 students within a modern environment that combines academic excellence with integrated infrastructure designed to meet the needs of the community.

A model for international schools

This project serves as a leading model for international schools, combining quality education with healthcare, sports, and arts activities. It underscores that investing in education is a true investment in the future, and that Sharjah is capable of completing major educational facilities in a mere 1,440 hours of continuous work, or 86,400 minutes of intensive effort. This effort involved engineering, technical, and administrative teams working around the clock.

Accelerated construction and integrated services

The team successfully overcame time constraints by executing construction at an accelerated pace and implementing a parallel execution methodology. This allowed for the simultaneous completion of several buildings, culminating in the administration building. The building comprises seven offices, a meeting room, a training room, and a comprehensive medical department, including a clinic and an isolation room. This ensures a robust healthcare system within the school, capable of handling emergencies and providing daily care for students. This reflects Sharjah's commitment to providing a safe learning environment where administrative and health services are integrated within a single framework.

Kindergarten and nursery facilities

The kindergarten and nursery building, with a capacity of 150 students, has also been completed. This building serves the early childhood stage by providing six classrooms, a library, a multi-purpose playground, a principal's office, a teachers' room, a meeting room, a doctor's room, a kitchen, and restrooms.

It forms an ideal educational environment that combines education, entertainment, and healthcare in one framework, supporting children's skills and keeping pace with their needs in their early years.

Facilities for grades one through four

As for the building for grades one through four, it has been completed with a capacity of 250 students. It includes ten classrooms equipped with the latest educational tools, in addition to a library, a multi-purpose playground, a principal's office, a teachers' room, a meeting room, a doctor's room, a kitchen, and restrooms.

The building was designed to enhance classroom and extracurricular activities and provide a stimulating educational environment that supports students' skills and keeps pace with modern curricula, reflecting Sharjah's vision in developing basic education and providing advanced educational environments.

Cultural, artistic and support facilities

The theater building comes to add a cultural and artistic dimension to the project, as it can accommodate 117 people and can be used as a multi-purpose hall to host school events and initiatives. It includes integrated service facilities that reflect the emirate's interest in promoting cultural and artistic activities within schools and providing platforms that support student talents.

The school also includes well-equipped science labs, modern computer labs, a cafeteria, preparation rooms, and a driver's rest area, making it a comprehensive educational facility capable of meeting students' daily needs and providing a balanced learning environment that combines academics with support services.

Overcoming construction challenges

The work teams faced significant challenges related to time constraints, multiple implementation phases, and the overlap between construction and technical installation. However, meticulous planning, continuous work, and a parallel implementation methodology enabled the teams to overcome these challenges and achieve a remarkable accomplishment.

This reflects the Emirate's ability to execute major educational projects in record time and confirms that Muhadhab School is not merely a building completed in sixty days, but rather an engineering and administrative success story that embodies the spirit of Sharjah and underscores that education is the cornerstone of development.

Supporting Sharjah’s educational future

With this achievement, Sharjah presents a practical model of its ability to turn challenges into opportunities, time into achievement, and vision into reality.

A school, kindergarten, and nursery were completed in a period of time shorter than one semester, becoming an integrated educational facility that combines quality education, health care, sports activities, and arts within a carefully designed environment.

It supports the educational journey in the emirate, keeps pace with the needs of the community, and confirms that Sharjah is moving forward in developing the educational infrastructure and providing modern schools that keep pace with the future and serve future generations.
