The workshop included a field tour of the key projects being implemented by the department on the university campus, including the university theatre, the university mosque, and service and administrative facilities. Engineers provided detailed explanations of the construction stages, engineering supervision procedures, and the quality and safety standards followed at work sites.
The workshop also gave students the opportunity to engage directly with engineering teams and ask questions related to project management, planning, work scheduling, as well as learning about modern technologies used in construction and finishing works. This helped strengthen their understanding of the skills required in the job market.
Sharjah Department of Public Works confirmed that the initiative forms part of its programmes aimed at supporting students and enhancing their knowledge by providing an applied learning environment that contributes to preparing qualified engineering professionals. The initiative aligns with the vision of the Emirate of Sharjah to develop the higher education sector and the infrastructure supporting it.
At the conclusion of the workshop, students expressed their appreciation for the practical experience, which provided them with real insights into engineering project management and helped broaden their professional perspectives.
