The workshop focused on introducing participants to the importance of reusing materials and highlighting the economic and environmental value of recycling, in addition to developing manual and artistic skills, and fostering a spirit of innovation and creative thinking, which aligns with Sharjah's efforts to raise environmental awareness and instil positive behaviours in younger generations.

The team from the municipality's Legal Affairs Department also provided participants with a practical demonstration on how to utilise available resources to produce practical tools for everyday use. This contributes to solidifying the concept of sustainability and transforming environmental ideas into tangible applications.

For her part, Alia Al-Awaini at the Legal Affairs Department at Al Hamriyah Municipality stated that the municipality's participation in the "Sharjah Summer Sports" programme stems from its social responsibility and its commitment to contributing to the development of a generation aware of environmental and sustainability issues. This is achieved through offering high-quality programmes that combine education, entertainment, and practical application.

Translating sustainability concept into practical application

Alia Al-Awaini added that Al Hamriyah Municipality is keen to ensure that its programmes for young people serve as platforms for building knowledge, honing skills, and instilling environmental values, rather than simply being recreational activities. The "Made with My Creativity" workshop was designed to translate the concept of sustainability into a practical application. Through it, participants learn how to transform simple, recyclable materials into useful products that possess both aesthetic and functional value. This fosters a culture of resource conservation and innovative resource utilisation.

Amina Al Shamsi, employee at the Legal Affairs Department, stated that the workshop embodies the municipality's commitment to supporting initiatives that cultivate environmental awareness and creativity in children, contributing to the development of individuals capable of creative thinking and a sense of responsibility towards the environment and society. She emphasised that true investment begins with building awareness among future generations and empowering them to acquire practical skills that meet the demands of sustainable development.
