Sharjah Sports Council discusses development plans at Mleiha Club

Sharjah 24: A delegation from the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) visited Mleiha Sports Club to discuss ways to improve the club’s sports system as part of the Council’s ongoing efforts to support clubs and strengthen their competitive abilities across both team and individual sports.

The visit, held at the club’s headquarters on Wednesday evening, was led by Mohamed Obaid Al Hosani, Director of the Sports Affairs and Development Department at SSC, accompanied by several Council officials. The delegation was received by Mohammed Sultan Khudouni Al Ketbi, Chairman of the club’s Board of Directors; Rashid Mohammed Al Ketbi, Head of the Team Sports Committee; Mansour Rashid Al Ketbi, Executive Director; Mohammed Musbah bin Hudeibah, Football Youth Development Supervisor; and Humaid Khusouni Al Ketbi, Swimming Supervisor.

Evaluating sports programmes and development plans

During the meeting, both sides discussed the current state of sports activities at the club, the on-ground challenges faced by athletes and coaching staff, and reviewed development plans and programmes aimed at enhancing technical and administrative performance across all teams. The discussion also focused on expanding participation in national tournaments and training young national talents in line with professional standards.

Mohamed Obaid Al Hosani confirmed that the Sharjah Sports Council aims, through such site visits, to enhance direct communication with club administrations and to observe their needs closely. He highlighted that the Council operates under the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, whose approach champions sport as a key element of human development and community progress.

Commitment to partnership and growth

For his part, Mohammed Sultan Khudouni Al Ketbi, Chairman of Mleiha Sports Club, expressed his sincere appreciation for the Council’s ongoing support and efforts to empower clubs to fulfil their sports and community missions. He affirmed that Mlieha Club remains dedicated to developing its programmes and enhancing player training to meet the ambitions of the upcoming phase.

The meeting concluded with a consensus on the importance of ongoing collaboration between the Council and the club. This collaboration aims to enhance sports infrastructure, nurture exceptional talent, and bolster the club’s presence in local and regional championships, embodying the spirit of partnership and shared vision that characterises Sharjah’s sports ecosystem.
