Sharjah Committee discusses new structure for municipal affairs

Sharjah 24: As part of the Sharjah Government’s ongoing efforts to enhance institutional performance and improve the efficiency of its administrative framework, the Organisational Structures Committee held a meeting chaired by Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, member of the Sharjah Executive Council and Chairman of the Human Resources Department.

The meeting was attended by the team from the Department of Municipal Affairs, headed by Sultan Mohammed bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Department, and included Sheikh Engineer Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Qasimi, Director of the Department; Engineer Hassan Al Mazmi, Director of the Engineering Department; Haya Al Salman, Director of the Legal Affairs Department; and Mohammed Rashid Al Shamsi, Acting Director of Municipal Affairs.

Commitment to effective governance and collaboration

During the meeting, participants discussed the organisational structure of the Department of Municipal Affairs and reviewed observations and development proposals aimed at enhancing the structure’s efficiency and the distribution of responsibilities among departments. The discussions focused on aligning the structure with the needs of municipal work in the Emirate of Sharjah while reinforcing principles of governance and institutional excellence.

His Excellency Abdullah Al Zaabi emphasised the importance of ensuring that organisational structures reflect the emirate’s vision for developing government performance, empowering national talent, and adopting modern practices in managing resources and operations to promote flexibility and improve service quality.

The meeting concluded by underscoring the importance of continued cooperation and integration between the Human Resources Department and the Department of Municipal Affairs in developing the latter’s organisational structure. This collaboration aims to strengthen performance efficiency and unify administrative frameworks in line with the Sharjah Government’s vision of building a flexible, integrated, and institutionally advanced government system.
