Sharjah24: The Committee for Removal of Farm Violationss in Sharjah convened a coordination meeting with municipal directors from the Central Region at Al Dhaid City Municipality. The session focused on ongoing efforts to monitor and rectify violations on farms, as well as raise awareness among landowners about the proper utilisation of allocated agricultural lands under government guidelines. This initiative is crucial given that these lands are intended for specific licensed activities.
Present at the meeting were Khaled bin Falah Al Suwaidi, Director of Customer Service at Sharjah City Municipality and Chairman of the Committee for Reomving Farm Vioations, along with directors from various municipal councils: Hamad Rashid Al Tunaiji (Al Dhaid City Municipality), Abdullah Sultan bin Salouma Al Ketbi (Al Batayeh Municipality), Saeed Muadhd Al Ketbi (Madam Municipality), Awad Saeed Al Ketbi (Mleiha Municipality), and Khalifa Bughanem Al Suwaidi, Director of Inspection and Control Department at Sharjah City Municipality.
Khaled bin Falah Al Suwaidi said that the meeting is the first of its kind among municipal councils in the Central Region, highlighting the committee's commitment to enhancing cooperation and joint coordination with city municipalities. The focus is on implementing the Executive Council's directives regarding farm encroachments, including legal and administrative measures to address violations in collaboration with the municipalities.
Al Suwaidi reiterated the committee's emphasis on collaborative efforts to monitor farm encroachments, achieve mutual objectives in utilising these lands for agriculture, pet breeding, recreational purposes, and promoting eco-tourism. The aim is to discourage improper practices that could harm the environment and society while fostering agricultural productivity and environmental sustainability.
