Sheikh Khalid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Prevention and Safety Authority, emphasized that the Authority’s involvement in the forum was a crucial strategic opportunity to enhance communication between the government and the public. The aim was to exchange knowledge, expertise, and best practices in government communication to improve transparency and build trust. Effective communication plays a vital role in achieving sustainable development and enhancing social stability, and the Authority's participation reflected its commitment to meeting society's needs and supporting national development goals.
Engineer Mohammed Al Zarouni, Director of the Occupational Health and Safety Department, kicked off the Prevention and Safety Authority's activities with a workshop titled “Sharjah Safety and Health System: From Communication Innovation to Preventive Creativity.” The workshop focused on the technology used by the Authority to ensure safety in various activities in the emirate, including the Sharjah Occupational Safety and Health Electronic System, which facilitates data collection and analysis. The workshop also addressed the registration of facilities, monitoring non-compliance with safety requirements, and data computerization in line with the latest directives in the emirate, all contributing to enhancing the effectiveness of preventive measures in the future.
The second workshop, "Communication Readiness and Activating Business Continuity," led by Fatima Al Marzouqi, Vice President of the Standards Department, highlighted the role of the Business Continuity Committee in cooperating with government agencies to ensure the continuity of business and vital services. Strategies to support the emergency and crisis management system and evaluate the business continuity standard in government institutions were also discussed.
On the second day, Hamad Al Mazmi, Head of the Media Division, presented a workshop on “Safety Ring by Enhancing Communication Channels.” He discussed improving communication channels with the public, utilizing the latest technologies for effective communication, and emphasized the Authority's strategies for emotional interaction with the public to strengthen its relationship with the community.
The Authority’s activities concluded with a workshop led by Eng. Mariam Bin Sultan, Quality Engineer, which focused on “Communication Mechanisms for Reporting Incidents.” During the workshop, mechanisms for reporting incidents, including unsafe cases, and sending periodic reports were discussed, aimed at expediting procedures and enhancing the investment environment in the emirate.
Through its participation in the Government Communication Forum, the Prevention and Safety Authority aimed to enhance occupational safety and health while adopting innovative communication strategies to achieve its goals and meet society’s aspirations.
