Sharjah 24: Engineer Yousef Abdullah Al Ali, Deputy Director of the Information Technology Department at the Sharjah Department of Town Planning and Survey (SDTPS), announced the department's participation in the Sharjah Government Pavilion at GITEX World 2024, showcasing the "Area Planning with Artificial Intelligence" project. This initiative aims to enhance land and area management in the emirate through modern technology.
In exclusive remarks to "Sharjah 24," Engineer Yousef explained that the project improves area planning and the distribution of facilities and infrastructure by leveraging artificial intelligence and survey data. This approach accelerates and refines planning decisions in Sharjah.

He explained that the programme analyses survey data linked to satellite images, enabling AI to suggest optimal space planning and facility distribution, including residential and commercial buildings, mosques, and parks—all within minutes. He added that the system assesses groundwater levels and forecasts rainfall, supporting accurate and comprehensive urban planning decisions.
