SSC concludes 5th Int’l Youth Basketball Championship

Sharjah24: The Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) officially concluded the fifth edition of the Sharjah International Youth Basketball Championship on Monday. The three-day tournament was hosted in the city of Khorfakkan and featured intense competition and vibrant community engagement.

A showcase of Khorfakkan's capabilities

Salem Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Khorfakkan Sports and Cultural Club, commended the Sharjah Sports Council for its dedication to advancing the sports scene in the emirate, especially in Khorfakkan. During the closing ceremony, Al Naqbi highlighted that the championship's hosting showcases the city's capabilities and infrastructure for organising international tournaments.

Global participation and local impact

A total of 35 teams from 10 countries participated in the championship, showcasing remarkable performances throughout 81 international matches. Al Naqbi emphasised the tournament's achievements, pointing out the impressive technical skill displayed and the substantial attendance from the audience.
