The opening ceremony was graced by several distinguished guests, including Ghanem Al Hajri, the Director General of the General Authority of Sports; Issa Hilal Al Hazami, the Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council; and Major General Nasser Al Razooqi, who serves as the President of both the Asian and UAE Karate Federations, as well as the Vice President of the International Federation. Also in attendance were Khalid Al Midfa, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sharjah Sports Club; Dr. Ibrahim Al Qannas, the President of the West Asian Karate Federation; and Engineer Suleiman Abdul Rahman Al Hajri, a member of the Board of Directors of Sharjah Club, who heads Individual Games and leads the Supreme Organizing Committee for the Championship.
In his speech, Eng. Sulaiman Al Hajri warmly welcomed the guests to the UAE, expressing Sharjah Club's pride in hosting the tournament. He stressed the hope that the event would reflect well on everyone involved. He urged all players to embrace sportsmanship, compete with honour, and steer clear of violence, highlighting that sports unite us as brothers.
The Chairman of the Supreme Committee emphasized the significant role that sports play in fostering relationships among people and athletes. He expressed a desire for this gathering to not only strengthen the bonds of friendship and human connections but also to promote the health and well-being of young individuals. He hopes that the tournament will encourage cooperation and harmony, uniting participants under the spirit of fair competition as they strive to reach the podium.
Dr. Ibrahim Al-Qannas thanked the Emirate of Sharjah for hosting the tournament and providing essential support for its success. He also expressed appreciation to the UAE Karate Federation, the Sharjah Sports Council, and all teams involved in making the event a success.
Sheikh Majid Al Qasimi presented medals to several winners, highlighting the achievements of Emirati athletes. Notably, Nada Ahmed Khamis clinched the gold medal in the junior girls' kumite competition, while Shama Marwan Al Ketbi secured a bronze medal for the Emirates.
Ibrahim Ahmed Ibrahim Bakhit from the UAE clinched the gold medal in the men's kumite competition, while Omar Nabil Al-Shaltouni followed suit with another gold in the under-21 kumite event. Additionally, Habeeba Yasser Qassim secured a silver medal in the junior women's kata competition. Ali Nasser Ahmed and Saif Rashid Al-Qaidi both earned silver medals in the under-21 male kumite category, and Sheikha Mohammed Jawhar also brought home a silver in the junior women's kumite competition.
