The two-day tournament featured 219 male and female athletes across the youth, junior, women's, and men's categories, representing 13 clubs and specialised centres from across the UAE. The high level of competition reflected the sport's ongoing development.
The Sharjah players delivered a strong and outstanding performance throughout the tournament, securing first place and the Federation Cup title. This victory continues their run of successes in the sport, reaffirming their technical superiority and their ability to retain the title for the seventh consecutive time.
Sharjah Club. On an individual level, club player Omar Yasser was awarded the Best Player Shield in the men's category, while Dhiab Issa Al-Shumaili received the Best Player Shield in the junior category. This adds another achievement to the club's record and reflects the quality of its technical work and talent development programmes across all age groups.
The UAE Taekwondo Federation honoured Sharjah Sports Club in recognition of its significant support for the sport, including its continuous hosting of official tournaments, national team training sessions, and various events organised by the federation.
For his part, Engineer Suleiman Abdulrahman Al-Hajri, a member of the Sharjah Club's Board of Directors and Head of Individual Games, dedicated the achievement to His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in appreciation of the great support that sports and athletes receive in the emirate. He also dedicated the achievement to the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) and the Sharjah Sports Club's Board of Directors, commending their ongoing efforts to provide an ideal environment for success and excellence.
Al Hajri explained that winning the title for the seventh consecutive time reflects the club's distinguished standing in taekwondo, thanks to its institutional work and continuous technical planning. He noted that the club continues to consolidate its position as one of the country's most prominent clubs in the sport, and that these achievements serve as an incentive to continue working and to win more championships in the coming seasons.
The tournament was attended by His Excellency Mohammed Obaid Al Hosan, Secretary General of SSC; His Excellency Mohammed Jumaa Bin Hindi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sharjah Sports Club; Zayed Al Suwaidi, Vice President of the UAE Taekwondo Federation; Abdullah Al Samahi, Secretary General; Engineer Suleiman Abdulrahman Al Hajri, Board Member of Sharjah Sports Club and Head of Individual Games; and several members of the Taekwondo Federation.
