SBA discuses collaboration opportunities at ‘MIPCOM 2024’

Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Broadcasting Authority (SBA) is participating in the "MIPCOM 2024" global exhibition for entertainment and television content, taking place at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France, from October 21 to 24.
This event is considered the largest in the world for the media and entertainment industry, featuring participation from over 100 countries, providing a leading platform to enhance the authority's international presence and highlight its diverse productions.

This participation is part of the authority's strategy to strengthen its media position globally and to provide content that combines culture and entertainment, enriching the viewer experience. The authority’s pavilion at "MIPCOM 2024" showcases a selection of distinguished productions that have received widespread acclaim and won prestigious awards at international festivals.

During the exhibition, the authority's delegation held a series of meetings with elite representatives from television channels and global production companies to discuss collaboration opportunities in areas such as co-production and acquiring rights for new programmes and series. This aims to enhance the content offered by the authority through its various channels. The authority also presented detailed showcases of its programmes, which are characterised by their diversity and high quality.

In a statement, His Excellency Salem Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of SBA, confirmed that MIPCOM represents an exceptional opportunity to connect with top television content producers worldwide. "Our goal for this participation is to promote our cultural, heritage, and entertainment programmes and to seek new works to add to our programming network, meeting the aspirations of our audience in the UAE and beyond," he stated.

Al Ghaithi added, "We are committed to developing strong partnerships with leading global companies in this field, and we will continue to provide innovative content that inspires viewers and enhances the authority's position as a significant player in the media landscape at both the Arab and international levels."

The authority's delegation includes Salem Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of SBA; Amal Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Director of Sharjah Radio; Aida Butti Hadid, Director of Programmes at Sharjah TV; Hind Mohammed Al Saidi, Director of the "Maraya" platform; Shurooq Rashid Al Suwaidi, Director of the Programme Procurement Department; Mohammed Ahmed Youssef, Director of Marketing and Government Communication; Nawal Rashid Al Naqbi, Director of Programmes at Al Sharqiya Channel in Kalba; and Ashraf Ali, Director of Programmes at Al Wusta Channel in Al Dhaid.
