Sharjah 24: As part of its ongoing mission to enhance women’s role in society, Sharjah Ladies Club recently hosted a workshop aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs. The event highlighted the vital role women play in shaping the business community, and was intended to strengthen their decision-making skills, give them an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences and help them launch their own ventures.
The workshop opened by Ms. Afreen Razak, Marketing & Partnership Manager at Sharjah Publishing City, who set out the day’s agenda, featured a panel discussion on ‘The Entrepreneurial Journey’. Ms. Andreea Andron, Head of Sales Department and an expert in sales and business development, spoke expressively about the importance of cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset and the significance of taking that first step toward achieving one’s goals. She proceeded to discuss Sharjah Publishing City’s commitment to supporting female entrepreneurs.
Also on the panel was Ms. Riham Ghirazi, a Business Setup Advisor. She brought the listeners’ attention to the unique challenges faced by women in the UAE and the crucial role the government to accomplish in helping them overcome these obstacles. She emphasized the importance of understanding local regulations and using all available resources, such as supportive government programs and initiatives.
Addressing the audience, Mrs. Duaa Al Mahri, Director of Corporate Communications at Sharjah Ladies Club, spoke about the importance of brand image when it comes to entrepreneurial success. She explained that customer trust is built on brand image and the way it reflects an entrepreneur’s values and vision.
Mrs. Al Mahri said, “The Club’s aim is to create a supportive environment for female entrepreneurs and offer workshops and events such as this that allow you to connect with experts from various fields. When we set up these opportunities for collaboration, we benefit the entire community.
The Club has organized numerous events throughout the year that have been designed to empower women, inspiring them to reach their full potential and apply innovative ideas to their professional lives. By doing so, Sharjah Ladies Club is helping build a more sustainable and advanced society.”
Following the panel debate, M Ms. Afreen Razak opened the floor to questions, allowing the audience to hear valuable insights from the expert guest speakers.
As part of the event, an interactive workshop on the subject of building a business plan was held. This was designed to equip participants with the skills they would need to set goals, understand strategies, and create a viable business plan. The workshop highlighted the importance of decision-making and self-belief and the key part female entrepreneurs have to play in the fields of education, health, society, and politics. By giving women a platform to think freely and exchange ideas, the workshop reinforced the idea that female-led start-ups are integral to societal growth.
