SBA showcases archival legacy at Al Dhaid Document Forum

Sharjah24: Sharjah Broadcasting Authority (SBA) participated in the Second Document Forum, launched Thursday at Expo Al Dhaid, organised by Al Dhaid Municipality under the theme “Documents Accessible to All.” SBA showcased its role in preserving Sharjah’s media memory through a dedicated booth.

Archival Footage Displayed

The SBA booth showcased a collection of historical archive videos that documented media coverage of significant events, including inaugurations led by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, as well as various cultural, national, and community events, providing visitors with a glimpse into the emirate's visual history.

Focus on Modern Technology

The booth also highlighted the modern archiving technologies utilized by SBA, showcasing digital tools and systems for preserving media content. In addition, it included a display of vintage equipment from various stages of television and radio broadcasting history.

By participating, SBA reaffirmed its commitment to supporting cultural and scientific events that highlight the importance of documents in preserving national identity and history. The authority also emphasised the need to engage with the public through documentary content that showcases its rich media journey.
