Sharjah 24: In a bid to enhance children's artistic skills and nurture their creative abilities, "Sharjah Children," part of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, organised a series of diverse artistic programmes targeting around 3,000 boys and girls aged 6 to 12 during the third quarter of the year at its centres across Sharjah.
The artistic programmes included a variety of exciting and enjoyable workshops that received enthusiastic participation from the children. Among the highlights was "Discover the Squid," led by Emirati artist Azza Al Qubaisi, a pioneer in jewelry making, product design, and sculpture. This programme provided children with the opportunity to explore the Emirati marine environment through a visit to the Al Jubail Market in Sharjah. Participants were also able to design small accessories and sculptures from silver, showcasing their creativity and talent using the technique of sculpting and casting silver within squid bones.
In a similar vein, participants in the "Ebru Art" workshop learned the traditional techniques of painting on water and printing designs onto paper. Meanwhile, the "Arabic Calligraphy" workshop focused on the fundamentals of Arabic calligraphy, emphasising the drawing of letters in the Naskh and Ruq'ah styles, and training them on the correct way to write to develop their artistic and linguistic skills.
Continuing this series of workshops, participants engaged in "Tafting" skills, aimed at enhancing their artistic and creative abilities through fabric manipulation, using colours and shapes to produce carpets from their own creations. Children also participated in various other workshops, including "Pottery," "Painting Techniques," and "Mosaic Art."
Sharjah Children aims to develop and refine children's artistic capabilities through a range of programmes and training workshops designed to stimulate their imagination and creativity, empowering them to produce innovative artistic works under the guidance of a team of experts and specialists.
