The 33 programmes and activities will continue until the end of August 2025, in a safe and stimulating environment that combines learning, fun, and benefit.
Registers undertook inspiring experiences within the "Skills Lab," under the slogan "Where Skill Meets Fun." They explored a diverse world of craft, professional, and artistic workshops that combined tradition and modernity. Among the most prominent workshops were the frankincense-making workshop and the innovation in candle making, where participants learned the basics of ingredient selection and design and production skills. These experiences contributed to developing their artistic taste and enhancing their aesthetic sense, a pioneering step toward supporting national production and preserving Emirati heritage.
In a rich experience, participants participated in the mechanics workshop, where they learned about engine parts and their functions, and gained maintenance skills and a deep understanding of mechanics, adding an attractive practical dimension to the summer activities. Participants also learned the secrets of fish preservation in the salt-making workshop and learned how to weave fishing nets, one of the most important and delicate maritime heritage crafts. This contributed to instilling concepts of cultural identity and belonging.
Participants also received intensive practical training in the art of resin, exploring how to combine colours and materials to produce beautiful handcrafted artworks.
In this context, Hussein Murad Al Belushi, Director of the Dibba Al Hisn Youth Centre, emphasised that the centre was keen to provide an exceptional summer experience that combines interactive learning with practical experiences, taking into account the interests and aspirations of young people. This is achieved through innovative methods that enhance their personalities and provide them with real opportunities to master new skills, in line with the Sharjah Youth vision of building and empowering informed and influential generations.
Al Belushi added, "The centre's activities are diverse, including sports and fitness, cultural and artistic events, as well as workshops, developmental training, and exploratory trips to prominent landmarks in the Emirate of Sharjah and the UAE. These activities aim to enhance teamwork, develop technical and artistic skills, and instil values of self-confidence and responsibility in a stimulating and safe environment.
Al Belushi invited those interested in joining the centre's activities and programmes to visit the Dibba Al Hisn Youth Centre headquarters or call 0503933239.
