Sharjah 24: Sharjah Capability Development (Tatweer) is preparing to launch the new edition of its creative programme, "Medad," specifically designed to empower young people with narrative writing tools and help them express their ideas through words, within a guided literary experience that balances artistic aspects with practical training.

The programme aligns with Tatweer’s vision of supporting young people's ambitions and developing their skills within a stimulating environment filled with unique experiences.

"Medad" provides participants with a comprehensive journey that includes a deep understanding of the elements of the novel, an analysis of selected Arabic texts, and continuous practical exercises, concluding with the production of a short text under the supervision of a group of specialists in writing and literary criticism.

Live creativity workshop

Over the course of several weeks, participants experience a live creativity workshop; starting with a simple idea, they learn how to build a cohesive plot, develop realistic characters, and write vibrant dialogue. The goal isn't for them to be ready-made writers, but rather to take the first confident step on this long journey.

Culture, a societal value

"Medad" is an extension of the Emirate of Sharjah's efforts to establish culture as a societal value and enhance the local and Arab creative scene by training a generation of young writers who possess a vision, passion, and a genuine voice that speaks for themselves.

The programme targets those aged 18 and above and will be held over the coming weeks in Sharjah. Presented in Arabic, it is organised by Tatweer, an affiliate of the Rubu' Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators.
