Sharjah 24: His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Mutawa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dibba Al Hisn Sports and Cultural Club, received His Excellency Abdullatif Al Fardan, Member of the Sharjah Sports Council and Vice President of the UAE Basketball Federation, at the club’s headquarters yesterday evening on a visit aimed at assessing the status of basketball at the club and discussing the challenges facing the participating teams.
This visit is part of the Federation’s strategy to improve the level of the game and provide the necessary support to the clubs, which enhances the chances of achieving success in the future and strengthens the position of Emirati basketball in the sports arena.
Dr. Al Mutawa praised the visit of His Excellency Al Fardan, noting that it reflects the moral support provided to the club, and supports the ongoing efforts to develop the game of basketball, which is the second most popular game after football.
Al Mutawa added that this visit represents an important step towards enhancing cooperation between the Federation and local clubs, which contributes to spreading and prospering the game on a wider level.
For his part, Abdullatif Al Fardan stressed that the main objective of the visit was to identify the needs and requirements of local clubs in the field of basketball.
Al Fardan explained that the Federation aims to support the clubs’ efforts in spreading the game and attracting distinguished elements that can contribute to enhancing the level of the national team, thus supporting the sport of Emirati basketball at the regional and international levels.
