Sharjah Chess Club targets greater success ahead

Sharjah24: Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Cultural Chess Club (SCCC), highlighted the importance of the support and patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, , along with Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council; and the close supervision of Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council of Sharjah; promoting achieving greater success in the future.
At a recent board meeting of the Sharjah Cultural Chess Club, Chairman Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Humaid Al Qasimi and other board members congratulated Faisal Abdullah Al Hammadi and Khalifa Ahmed Al Mazrouei on their appointment as new board members, following the issuance of Administrative Decision No. 20 of 2024. The board extended their best wishes for success in their new roles and responsibilities.

At the recent meeting at the club's headquarters, new administrative roles were assigned, with some positions rotated while others remained unchanged due to past achievements. Abdullah Murad Al Mazmi was appointed Head of the Technical Department, Khalifa Al Mazrouei was named Chairman of the Cultural Committee and the Digital Media and Communication Committee, and Faisal Al Hammadi was designated Chairman of the Strategic Planning Committee and General Supervisor of the Sharjah Chess Academy.

The board also reviewed an administrative circular from the Sharjah Sports Council on signing memorandums of understanding and another from the UAE Chess Federation regarding the organisation and hosting of the President’s Cup Chess Championship. Additionally, administrative, financial, and media reports were presented.

The board approved the minutes from the previous meeting and confirmed the club's participation in the Abu Dhabi Chess Festival 2024. The meeting also included a review of the final report for the 2024 summer activity program.
