Sharjah Sports Channel to air Basketball Championship

Sharjah 24: Sharjah Sports Channel proudly continues its standout role in the sports scene with exclusive live coverage of the fifth Sharjah International Basketball Championship, taking place from September 5 to 10. This event is held under the esteemed patronage of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council.
The channel will broadcast the matches daily at 5:00 PM UAE time, covering every game from the preliminary rounds through to the final. Viewers can also follow updates through various programmes, including "From the UAE," "Platform," and daily news briefs. The channel’s digital media will offer real-time updates, including match results and reactions from players and experts, on its social media platforms.

This year’s championship features renowned teams such as Lebanon’s Hekmeh, Saudi Arabia’s Al-Fateh, Iraq’s Duhok, Kuwait’s Al-Arabi, UAE’s Sharjah, and the host team, Al-Batayeh. Representing a wide array of basketball styles from the region, these teams add a unique dynamic to the competition. This diversity enhances the challenge for all participating teams and provides Sharjah’s teams with the opportunity to compete at a high level and prepare effectively for the upcoming season.

Mohammed Majed Al Suwaidi, Director of Sharjah Sports Channel, expressed his pride in the channel’s significant role and contribution to supporting sports events in the emirate and the region. He noted that the coverage will extend beyond live match broadcasts to include detailed technical analyses and special reports, with comprehensive updates provided on the channel’s social media platforms.
