Sharjah 24: In the presence of His Excellency Khalid Issa Al Midfa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sharjah Sports Club and Chairman of Sharjah Football Company, the subsidiary stadiums of Sharjah Club in Samnan and Al Hazannah headquarters saw a great turnout from those wishing to join the club in the different age groups.
This came as the club organised the first open day to attract young players for the 2024-2025 sports season from the category of nationals and children of female nationals.
More than 311 children born between 2010 and 2015 participated in the tests that were held over Saturday and Sunday. The first day saw the attendance of 250 children, and the number increased to 311 children on the second day. Tests were supervised by the club's technical director, Mr. Kirlambospapis, with the participation of the coaches of the Ajax Youth Academy in the Netherlands, the technical partner of Sharjah Club Academy that developed a specialised programme for the tests. Coach Hassan Ismail, supervisor of the goalkeepers’ coaches, also developed and implemented a test programme for young goalkeepers.
Hassan Ahmed Al Hammadi, member of Sharjah Football Company and supervisor of the youth system, expressed his gratitude for the presence of His Excellency the Chairman of the Board of Directors, noting that it reflects the commitment and interest of the club’s management in the future of Sharjah Sports Club by investing in young players, appreciating the experience that the club started from the 2021 season, which was a successful experience that led players from these tests to the Sharjah Club teams and from there to the national leagues.
