Sharjah Youth concludes “Youth Cultural Exchange Programme”

Sharjah 24: Confirming its vital and effective role in supporting cultural diversity among the world’s youth, Sharjah Youth, affiliated with the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, concluded the activities and events of the Youth Cultural Exchange Programme, organised as part of its efforts to enhance mutual cultural learning between its members and the world’s youth.
The programme hosted in its first edition a youth delegation from the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication in the Kingdom of Morocco, as part of a rich cultural tourism programme that enhances intellectual and cultural communication between youth from the two countries.

On behalf of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, "Youth Directorate" in the Kingdom of Morocco, Nahza Al Amin, Head of the Moroccan delegation, extended her sincere thanks to Sharjah Youth for the warm reception and hospitality, and for providing all the capabilities and responding to the proposals of young members of the delegation. 

Nahza Al Amin praised the efforts of Sharjah Youth team in organising the programme, which came within the framework of cultural exchange between the youth of the two countries, and included activities, visits and tours to many cultural and tourist landmarks of a religious and historical nature, providing the delegation members with the opportunity to learn about the culture of the sisterly United Arab Emirates. 

Nahza Al Amin said that she hopes to host the Sharjah Youth delegation in the Kingdom of Morocco during the coming year, within the framework of youth cultural exchange to achieve the common future goals of building young leaders capable of advancing and improving the future of their countries.

The programme included a number of exploratory visits to the most important cultural landmarks in the Emirate of Sharjah, where members of the Moroccan delegation participated in a variety of visits and tours, the most prominent of which was visiting the Heart of Sharjah area and the Bait Al Nabooda, in cooperation with Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) and Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), where they enjoyed learning about the history of the emirate.

On an exciting cultural journey, the participants traveled between the most important periods of Islamic history during their visit to Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilisation, where they learned about a wide range of collectibles such as Islamic coins and documents, and coins specific to each historical era, in addition to visiting museums affiliated with Sharjah Museums Authority, in addition to visiting Holy Quran Academy in Sharjah, which gave the participants the opportunity to have a cultural experience that had a great impact in enhancing communication and supporting cultural diversity and constructive civilisational interaction in different aspects shared between the two countries.

As part of Sharjah Youth’s efforts to highlight and consolidate the pioneering role of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators in preparing and qualifying young professionals capable of participating in shaping the future, the Moroccan delegation visited the Wasit Youth Centre, one of the eight Sharjah Youth Centres in Sharjah, in addition to the Rubu’ Qarn specialised centres for theatre, performing arts, and life skills. 

The delegation members was scheduled to participate in a group of interactive activities and creative skill workshops within the Rubu’ Qarn Camp for Life Skills, to develop their personal and professional skills, which contributes to enhancing communication, acquaintance, and exchange of ideas and experiences between youth of the two countries. 

Programmes included creative thinking, self-management and emotional intelligence, professional photography, solar panel manufacturing, and fountain manufacturing, in addition to table manufacturing, carpet shaping, terrarium, and the art of preparing healthy dishes, in addition to the promising media programmes "Job Shadowing", and audio content production "Podcast", to achieve the goals of Sharjah Youth from the Youth Cultural Exchange Programme, in building youth leaders with strategic thinking characterised by knowledge and mastery of the skills necessary to face the challenges of the future according to the highest standards. 

The programme included an entertainment aspect that consisted of a group of guided recreational trips including visiting the rain room, and the Arabia’s Wildlife Centre, which gave them the opportunity to explore the amazing diversity of the largest group of wild animals in the Arab world, in addition to enjoying sports activities at the Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club, the internationally known "karting" car race track, and many entertainment destinations in the country. 

Participant Muhammad Reda Ashuba expressed his happiness to participate in the youth cultural exchange programme, which gave him the opportunity to acquire many skills, meet new friends from the United Arab Emirates in general and from the Emirate of Sharjah in particular, and exchange ideas and experiences with them.

Through the youth cultural exchange programme, Sharjah seeks to achieve a connection with young leadership models from different countries in preparation for a future of joint cultural programmes that contribute to building influential generations.
