Sharjah24: The Khorfakkan Youth Center's team emerged victorious in the 15th Sharjah Youth Futsal Cup, an event organised by Sharjah Youth, affiliated with the Rubu’ Qarn for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators. The tournament was conducted in a double-elimination format, emphasising the principles of "Sportsmanship and Fair Play." A total of 144 participants from eight centres across multiple cities and regions of Sharjah took part in the event.
The concluding match took place yesterday at the Al Dhaid Youth Centre sports hall, with notable attendees, in the presence of various directors, players, and parents.
The final saw intense competition between Wasit and Khorfakkan. Wasit led 2-0 in the first half, but Khorfakkan rallied in the second half to win 3-2. Khaled Suleiman scored twice, with Hamdan Abdullah adding the third for Khorfakkan, while Wasit’s goals came from Yaseen Abdulhamid and Ali Abdullah.
The tournament showcased an energetic show of sporting enthusiasm and upheld significant values, aligning perfectly with its theme of "Sportsmanship and Fair Play." Sharjah Youth focused on promoting principles such as integrity, mutual respect, teamwork, and effective communication among participants, highlighting the significance of fair play and sportsmanship.
Mohammed Ahmed Shehzad of Wasit Youth Center praised the tough and exciting match, congratulating Khorfakkan Youth Center on their victory. He emphasised that the true value of the event lies in the spirit of competition, respect for friends, and fair play, rather than just winning or scoring goals.
