Sharjah 24: Sharjah Department of Suburbs Affairs (SDSA) continued during the second quarter of 2024 to provide its vital and influential role in supporting multiple community services. These efforts reflect the pioneering visions and noble directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to achieve prosperity and sustainable development in all fields for citizens and residents of the Emirate of Sharjah.
SDSA conveys its responsibilities and obligations through a comprehensive set of initiatives and services during the second quarter of this year.
SDSA revealed many of the actions that have been achieved in the field of council affairs management. The department organised 23 initiatives that included cultural, social, religious and sports fields, in addition to hosting 18 events that included local, federal and private hosts.

127 events were organised, including weddings and public events, which highlights the effective interaction with the community and meeting its diverse needs.
SDSA provided 412 services in organising funerals, from which 158 families benefited, while processing 5 requests to settle debt payments for the deceased, which reflects the dedication to providing support to families, especially in their social circumstances.
SDSA made tangible achievements by tracking and resolving 31 different social cases, including the department resolving 21 cases in the community administration and referring 4 cases to the competent authorities, and 6 cases were received in the suburban councils to provide support and follow-up.
In the context of the parent councils of students affiliated with the department, the parent councils implemented 24 initiatives that include a number of programmes within the main initiatives, targeting 2,308 parents and community members, in addition to supporting 825 of the targeted students, and organizing 33 field visits to enhance Community communication.

Sheikh Majid bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Head of SDSA, confirmed that the department continues its commitment in accordance with its approach outlined by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, towards supporting the community and communicating with families and individuals by providing diverse and effective services, through the vision of His Highness, which provides integrated support to the department to carry out its role in serving the community.
Dr. Abdullah Suleiman Al Kabouri, Director of SDSA, pointed out the department’s commitment to continuing to provide its services with the highest levels of quality, and always striving to meet the needs of the community and achieve an effective response to all societal challenges.
