Sharjah24: The Cultural Office of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah hosted the "Our Summer and Sharjah" event at the Muwaileh Suburb Council, which drew significant community participation from families and children. The event is part of the office's initiative to revitalise local cultural engagement and activate community councils as hubs for knowledge and cultural exchange. The programme, which lasted one day and took place in an interactive summer setting, aimed to present culture in an engaging and uncomplicated manner that was accessible to all family members. It represents increasing efforts to integrate cultural experiences into familiar, everyday settings.

Creative activities and family engagement

The programme included a variety of activities aimed at encouraging learning and creativity. These featured a children's story time session and an art workshop that encouraged young people to use their imaginations and creative expression. A seminar titled "Our children's summer: an opportunity, not a break" emphasised the necessity of making the most of summer vacation through active family participation. Cultural tournaments with "secret cards" fostered interactive engagement across all age groups, resulting in a lively and inclusive environment.

Cultural and social development

The Cultural Office prioritised accessibility and relevance, blending cultural values with entertainment to provide a meaningful yet pleasant experience. The event represents the type of activities that the Office intends to continue—initiatives that coincide with Sharjah's Supreme Council for Family Affairs' objective of supporting cultural and social progress within families. Through innovative, community-driven programs, the office works to foster cultural awareness, strengthen family bonds, and improve social cohesion.
