Sharjah24: The Khorfakkan Municipality has finished getting ready to celebrate Eid Al Adha by implementing a wide range of measures across all its departments. These measures aim to safeguard public health during the Eid festivities.
The proactive inspection teams were diligently distributed to tourist facilities and sites throughout the day. Their primary focus was to educate the public about the importance of maintaining the cleanliness of the city and green spaces, ensuring a clean and pleasant environment for all.

Please take note of the following information. The musallas (Eid prayer areas) and their surroundings have been meticulously prepared. This involved thorough cleaning, sterilization, and insecticide spraying. The grass has been carefully maintained to ensure a clean and healthy environment for worshipers.

The doors of the musallas have been adorned with agricultural beds, and all the trees in the public streets have been neatly trimmed. Public parks have been freshly planted, and the streets and squares of Khorfakkan have been transformed with the vibrant colours of nearly 30,000 flowers. We've also planted infernal shrubs and increased the cleaning capacity of public parks, which will be open from 8 am to 10 pm throughout the Eid holiday.

The Technical Affairs Department has finished marking the parking lots next to the musallas to make it easier for cars to enter and exit.

The Public Health Department developed a comprehensive program to monitor sales outlets in the city before and during Eid. Their inspectors conducted thorough inspections of food and professional licenses to verify the authenticity of the food products being offered. Additionally, they closely monitored men's and women's barbershops to ensure compliance with health regulations. The Public Health Department also implemented an awareness campaign on the dangers of slaughter outside the slaughterhouse. The campaign aimed to spread awareness among the public, commercial license holders, and butcher shops of the negatives of random slaughter in homes and other places not prepared for slaughter and to highlight the importance of veterinary examination to verify the suitability of carcasses for consumption. During the campaign, an educational leaflet about the dangers of slaughter outside slaughterhouses was distributed, and department officials confirmed the intensification of surprise inspection campaigns in stores throughout the days of Eid to ensure the health and safety of the public.

The lifeguard services at Khorfakkan beaches have been improved to uphold safety standards for beach visitors, guaranteeing everyone's safety while they enjoy their time at the beach.

Regarding sales outlets and markets, we are intensifying campaigns and inspection tours to monitor and ensure compliance with safety instructions and conditions. Our department will continue its ongoing efforts to monitor and follow up to guarantee the safety and quality of goods and materials provided to the public. Additionally, we will be following up on street vendors and taking any necessary legal measures.

The fish market will be closed on the first day of Eid Al Adha. It will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. for the remaining days of Eid and the day of Arafa. The fruit and vegetable market will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. throughout Eid and the day of Arafa.

An emergency plan has been implemented to operate 24/7 during Eid to receive public complaints and anticipate any cases of poisoning or harm. The public can call the emergency numbers 600530001 and 993.
